Showcase: Hammered Wedding Bands
HAMMERED WEDDING RINGS
The raw texture of our hammered wedding rings gives them a sense of being natural, organic objects. Hammered wedding bands have a soft matt lustre, which is sympathetic to skin tones and makes them one of our most sought after designs. Subtle variations in the hand beaten finish make hammered wedding rings a natural choice for those seeking an individual and understated ring. Our ladies and men’s hammered wedding rings can be made in platinum or 18-carat white, yellow or rose gold. The process of hammering creates an enduring impression in the metals’ surface and our rings will retain their texture throughout a lifetime of wear. Learn more about the process below and visit our product pages for current prices.
TEXTURED MEN’S WEDDING RINGS
Our textured men’s weddings rings are handmade from precious metal bar. The two men’s wedding bands shown here are an 18-carat white gold men’s wedding ring on the left, and a men’s hammered platinum wedding ring on the right. First we mill down the gold or platinum bar to the desired width and profile. Once the ring has been formed it is hammered to create organic texture on the outer surfaces, which contrasts with the smooth, highly polished inner surface.
ROSE GOLD HAMMERED WEDDING RINGS
The ladies and men’s rose gold hammered wedding rings shown to the right are made from 18-carat rose gold. Hammering rose gold gives it a soft matt lustre, which emphasises and intensifies the colour of the metal. We use an 18-carat rose gold alloy with a particularly subtle and delicate colour. The natural warmth of our rose gold hammered wedding rings is particularly complimentary to skin tones.
FLAT OR CURVED HAMMERED WEDDING RINGS
Our hammered wedding rings can be made with a flat or rounded profile. The rings shown here are made from 18-carat rose gold. On the left is a wide hammered wedding ring with a rounded profile, while on the left is a narrower hammered wedding band with a flat outer surface. Both rings are curved inside the band for a comfortable fit.
BI-METAL HAMMERED WEDDING RINGS
Hammered bi-metal, or mixed metal wedding rings combine two metals within one ring. The men’s bi-metal hammered wedding ring shown here combines hammered 18-carat white gold with a smooth strip of rose gold along one edge. It is seen next to white gold and rose gold hammered wedding rings from our collection.
CHOOSE YOUR WIDTH AND METAL
Hammered weddings can reflect your own personality and sense of style. From wide, substantial men’s wedding bands to slender ladies’ hammered wedding rings, altering the width can create an entirely different feel. Our men’s and women’s hammered wedding bands are available in 18-carat white, yellow, rose gold or platinum. This selection of ladies and men’s hammered wedding rings shows some of the effects that can be achieved by varying the width and colour of the metal.
HOW HAMMERED WEDDING RINGS ARE MADE
A customised hammer is used to create the textures on our hammered wedding rings. The domed face of the hammer has been ground to create rough dimples in the surface. Each hammer blow imprints texture into the surface of the metal, building up to create an even pattern across the surface. We create subtle textures with soft hammering and use a more forceful strike to achieve a deeper, more pronounced texture.
